Medical gas supplies are widely used during first aid and hospital environment. This course will ensure candidates are able to use medical gas safely as first aiders and healthcare professionals including correct administration to patients.
Oxygen theory (British Thoracic Society Guidelines)
CO2 retainer patients
Internal and external respiration
Oxygen safety, storage, indicators and contra indicators
Oxygen equipment and maintenance including various masks (facial and nasal)
Entonox safety, storage, indicators and contra indicators
Entonox equipment and maintenance
There are no specific entry requirements for this course, although the ability to communicate in English would be beneficial as course delivery will be in English only.

Assessment: Certification is dependent on successful continuous assessment, there is no final exam. Those students who complete the course and are deemed to have reached the required standard are issued with a certificate that is valid for three years.
