Automated external defibrillators (AED) are increasingly being made available for use by anyone.
This course provides basic life support training and the use of automated external defibrillators which are commonly used in cases of cardiac arrest. Anyone may attend and there is no requirement to have undertaken first aid training previously.
Upon completion of the course, candidates will be able to competently use an AED whilst also holding a practical understanding of the procedures they must follow in order to ensure that the AED and oxygen is administered safely.

There are no specific entry requirements for this course, although the ability to communicate in English would be beneficial as course delivery will be in English only.
Course 1: AED & Oxygen Course - Duration: 6 hours
Course 2: AED Course - Duration: 3 hours
Course 3: AED Course RQF - Duration: 4 hours

Course 1: AED (Automated External Defibrillation) & Oxygen
Course 2: AED (Automated External Defibrillation)
Assessment: Certification is dependent on successful continuous assessment, there is no final exam. Those students who complete the course and are deemed to have reached the required standard are issued with a certificate that is valid for three years.
Course 3: AED (Automated External Defibrillation) RQF
Assessment: A multi choice examination and a RQF certificate will be awarded upon pass.
