The number of people in the UK suffering bad injuries from falls is increasing year by year.
This course will show candidates the common causes of falls enabling them to evaluate the risks involved and to understand when a person is more at risk. Falls can have a physical and psychological affect, they will also learn ways to help those who have fallen. This fall prevention course is useful for anyone working in care, especially those working with the elderly. Course Content
Personal and environmental risk factors contributing to falls
Poor vision causing falls – cataract and age-related macular degeneration Social, psychological and other implications of falls Determining when a person is at risk Helping those who have fallen – medical, exercise, awareness, etc. Injuries caused by falling Entry Requirements
There are no specific entry requirements for this course, although the ability to communicate in English would be beneficial as course delivery will be in English only.

Assessment: Certification is dependent on successful continuous assessment, there is no final exam. Those students who complete the course and are deemed to have reached the required standard are issued with a certificate that is valid for three years. Cost
