This two-day paediatric first aid course focuses on emergency scenarios that face those looking after young children and infants, including day nurseries, private nursery schools, pre-schools, before and after school clubs for children in the early years age group, childminders and carers of children at home.

Allergic reaction Unresponsive casualty treatment Communication and casualty care Asthma and diabetic emergencies Choking Bone, joint and muscle injuries Managing an emergency Eye injuries Bleeding Seizures Poisoning, bites and stings Spinal injuries Foreign objects Meningitis and sickle cell Burns Heat and cold-extreme Head injuries Entry Requirements
There are no specific entry requirements for this course, although the ability to communicate in English would be beneficial as course delivery will be in English only.

Course 1: Paediatric 1st Aid (OFSTED) course Assessment: Certification is dependent on successful continuous assessment, there is no final exam. Those students who complete the course and are deemed to have reached the required standard are issued with a certificate that is valid for three years. Course 2: Paediatric 1st Aid (OFSTED) course RFQ Assessment: Certification is dependent on successful continuous assessment, there is no final exam. Those students who complete the course and are deemed to have reached the required standard are issued with a certificate that is valid for three years. A RQF certificate will be awarded upon pass. Course 3: Paediatric 1st Aid course Assessment: Certification is dependent on successful continuous assessment, there is no final exam.
